About Department:

The Department of Commerce was established in 2009 and offers an undergraduate program in Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) with specialization subjects such as Banking and Finance and Business Administration. The department aims to develop entrepreneurial and business skills among rural students, enabling them to face global challenges and contribute effectively to the local industries and commercial sectors. The faculty members employ ICT-based and interactive teaching learning methods to enhance the learning experience. The department organizes various student-centric activities focused on improving business-related soft skills, including communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem- solving. To provide practical exposure, the department has established a dynamic Commerce Association, which conducts guest lectures, seminars, workshops, and industrial visits. Every year, renowned industrialists and entrepreneurs are invited to guide students on current trends and opportunities in the field of commerce. The department continuously promotes industry-academia collaboration and encourages students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, motivating them toward start-ups and self- employment. Additionally, it maintains collaborations and linkages with industries, assisting students in their project work, field studies, internships, and placements, thereby ensuring their overall academic and professional development.
