About Department
Department of Botany was established in the year 2014. It is one of the leading department dedicated to teaching and Research. The department runs F. Y., S. Y. and T.Y. B.Sc. Botany. Also M.Sc. Botany Started in year 2021.Programme provides basic knowledge of the living world, plant diversity and evolutionary trends of flowering and non-flowering plants, cell biology, genetics, plant physiology, and plant ecology during the first three years. This department is actively imparting the knowledge of subject to the needy students and awareness among them about environment related issues.

The department of Botany organizes field trips as per the curriculum of University. The department has started issue of textbooks for economically weaker students. The teachers regularly attend state, national and international seminars and conferences to update their knowledge as well published research papers in various international and national journals.

The main thrust area of teaching and research are Plant Pathology, Plant Physiology, Genetics & Plant Breeding, Environmental Botany, Plant Biotechnology, Systemic Botany etc. Presently, teaching activities include under- graduate and post-graduate semester courses. The department has made a steady progress in all these areas.
